Why Your Challenge Points Don't Match Your Dashboard Points

Two scoring systems, one app

The points on your everyday Dashboard and the points on a Challenge Leaderboard are not always the same number, and that is expected. Your Dashboard tracks the App's standard points system. A Challenge Leaderboard tracks whatever rules the organiser set up for that specific Challenge. They both draw on your logged and verified activity, but they can count it very differently.

How your Dashboard points work

Outside of a Challenge, every activity you log earns points under the App's standard rules, with daily and weekly limits on each activity type so the same workout cannot be logged over and over for points. Build up enough points in a week and you earn a Streak; keep your Streak going and you level up. See How to earn points for the full points table.

How a Challenge Leaderboard works

When an organiser sets up a Challenge, they choose one scoring mode for that Challenge, not the full Dashboard points system. It is always one of:

  • Points, where every logged activity counts toward one running total

  • Steps, based on verified daily step counts

  • Distance, tracking kilometres toward a target

  • Activity, where any logged activity counts, regardless of type

  • Gym Visits, based on in-app check-ins

The organiser also sets the Challenge's own time frame (a week, a month or a quarter is common) and its own milestones and rewards. Some Challenges run as individual leaderboards, others pit team against team. None of this touches your everyday Dashboard points; it is a separate scoreboard running alongside them, using its own rules.

Why the numbers can look different

A few things commonly explain the gap:

  • The Challenge is only scoring one type of activity (say, Gym Visits), so a run or a readiness check-in that earned you Dashboard points will not move you on that Leaderboard

  • The Challenge only counts activity logged within its own start and end dates, so anything outside that window will not appear on the Leaderboard even though it still counted toward your Dashboard points

  • Some Challenges run bonus periods where points are worth more toward prizes for a set stretch of the Challenge, which is separate from how those same activities are valued on your Dashboard

Because of this, it is entirely normal to see your Dashboard points climbing steadily while your position on a particular Challenge Leaderboard stays flat, or the other way around.

This is not a bug

If your Challenge Leaderboard position does not match what you would expect from your Dashboard points, nothing is broken. It means the Challenge is scoring a narrower or different slice of your activity than the Dashboard does. Check the Challenge's details screen in the app for the exact scoring mode and dates, or ask the organiser what counts for that particular Challenge.
